With a penchant for complex and harmonious compositions and appreciation of diverse genres such as classical music and hip hop is the jazz pianist from Houston, Texas something special.

Even a list of his collaborators shows a tremendous breadth within jazz, soul and hiphop. Robert Glasper, has among others recorded albums with Kanye West, Meshell Ndegeocello, Erykah Badu and Talib Kweli, while on his own debut album in 2004, he brought in names such as Roy Hargrove, Russell Malone, Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard and Mark Whitfield.

Robert Glasper Experiment is extremely technical jazz which constantly flirts with warm soul and electronic funk. There are also clear links to Robert's previous studies in performance art and the direction of modern music. The latest, and acclaimed album "Doubled booked" split itself between the traditional trio of games and more rhythmic and funk-inspired jazz soul played on Fender Rhodes.
